Le Couturier de la Cuisine: a family story
It all started in the family barn in Walferdange. Today we welcome you in our showrooms in Bereldange and Metz. For almost fifty years we have been designing made-to-measure kitchens, with the same eye for detail.

The early days in Walferdange
Emile Engel starts selling fitted kitchens from the family’s converted barn on the main street. He is one of the first to bring fitted kitchens to Luxembourg.
- Bereldange
The move to Bereldange
A few years later the business moves to the Route de Luxembourg in Bereldange, where you will still find us today.

The next generation
Andy Engel and Gilles Buchler take over the management together and run the business with the same care.

Two showrooms
Around 30 kitchens on display in Bereldange, a second showroom in Metz – Marly-Frescaty, and clients as far away as Brittany and the Côte d’Azur.
Two directors, one shared standard
Andy Engel and Gilles Buchler have run Le Couturier de la Cuisine together since 2003. They came to the business by different routes but see the job the same way: take the time, do the work properly and be there for clients long after the kitchen is fitted.
Andy Engel
Managing director
Andy Engel is the founder’s son and grew up in the family business. Born in Bissen, he now lives right behind the Bereldange shop. After studying economics at the University of Nancy, joining his father in the kitchen business was the natural next step.
Gilles Buchler
Managing director · Installation & after-sales service
Gilles Buchler also comes from a family with a long tradition in the furniture trade. He lives close by, between the Bereldange shop and our warehouse in Steinsel, and looks after everything to do with installation and after-sales service. Patient and highly organised, he makes sure every installation goes smoothly.
They are supported by experienced kitchen designers and fitters, some of whom already worked with Emile Engel.
